We were all devastated last May when we lost the transcendently brilliant author/illustrator Maurice Sendak. But now, the world will get one last taste of his genius with the impending release of My Brother’s Book. Vanity Fair is running an excerpt of the book, which brings to mind the poetry and art of William Blake. The book reconciles Maurice’s feelings about his brother Jack’s passing, in poignant, heartbreaking and whimsical Sendak style.

My Brother’s Book is due out on February 5th from HarperCollins.
